I love brunch. I love Italian food. We just got back from our Georgia trip and in fact are already filling up our bucketlists with where-to-gos, what-to-dos and what-to-devour when we go to our Italy trip (fingers crossed it will push through!).
Last Sunday, we went to Italian food heaven and back.
What better way to start the week right than to treat ourselves, right? After work, we went straight to JW Marriott Marquis Dubai to devour with all Italian goodness.
There’s a belief that the Italians taught the rest of the world how to cook. Positano is a mecca of everything Italian: fresh al dente pasta, made-to-order pizza, antipasti, a variety of cheese, seafood, steak, and desserts, name it. If you want to try almost everything then the perfect way to do it is of course, at a buffet.
We already had high expectations even before stepping inside Positano–it’s JW Marriott Marquis Dubai, after all. We had some good experiences at some of their F&B outlets and they never disappoint. Our gastronomic journey at us sampling all of their cheese offerings. Truffle cheese was my personal fave–yum yum.
Cheezus We loved #PositanoDubai’s offerings: cheese, antipasti, handmade pasta, and of course, the desserts. Try the #FestaItaliano Sunday evening brunch and experience authentic coastal #Italian cuisine. A photo posted by Ayesha Pajares (@ayeshapajares) on
You can personalize your own bruschetta as well. There’s a wide array of antipasti so just go on and indulge–devour every Italian goodness they have there.
After the antipasti, have your fair share of steak (ribeye, tenderloin, and lamb chops), with your choice of doneness, of course. Don’t miss the seafood (lobster, tiger shrimp, and salmon) as well. Choose from the variety of sauces. I drowned my lobster and tiger shrimps with their lemon butter sauce. Again, yum.
You can also have your very own pizza–you may choose from their ready-made recipes or you may customize your own. Same goes for their pastas! Don’t get yourself too full from all the delectable antipasti as we’re sure you want to try all the possible pasta and pizza recipes you can think of.
We gulped everything down with their Melon Bowl and Chardonnay. Cheese (if not everything!) tastes best with wine, that’s why.
I got too excited with the dessert buffet so I wasn’t able to take photos (oops!). They have a different space dedicated for a wide selection of desserts so make sure to leave room. Their gelato (in mandarin sorbet, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry) is my favorite! I drowned mine in different toppings.
Note: Their tiramisu is one of the best in Dubai so don’t miss it. If I wasn’t too full I could have devoured the whole thing on my own.
Sample an extravaganza of specialties of coastal Italian region, overflowing with antipasti, handmade pasta cooked à la minute and a dessert room filled to the brim with all Italian classics such as panna cotta, gelato, cassata and other delicious sweet bites.
