When in Dubai, we can’t really help but bask under the sun.

If you’re like me who don’t religiously put sunblock everyday, the sun has some serious effects on the skin: wrinkles, dark spots, and age spots are just some of them. With all the torture that I’m doing to my skin (not really a fan of putting sunblock since I’m not a morning person, hence I’m on a rush every morning!), I developed some visible sun spots. Eek.

A few weeks ago, I had the Elemis White Brightening Facial treatment at one of my favorite spa places in Dubai, Cleopatra’s Spa. If you’ve seen my previous posts about the Elemis Skin Specific Facial and Elemis Modern Skin Facial, you must have already known how I love Cleopatra’s Spa and Elemis.

They explained that the Elemis White Brightening Facial is perfect for those who just came back from a vacation. I just returned to Dubai from some beach trips and basking under the sun the whole day didn’t really help my skin. I’m bothered by how dull my skin looked and the dark sun spots are just not lovely to look at.

The Elemis White Brightening Facial, priced at AED685, is a 60-minute brightening facial treatment that used Bio-Mimetic Peptide combined with the powers of daisy, kiwi, sophora, and pea. Light strokes are also used to not further damage the skin. Vitamin C is also one powerful agent that targets the overproduction of melanin in some areas of the skin. It also helps in mattifying the skin whilst making it look bright.

Before the treatment, I indulged myself in their jacuzzi and sauna facilities:

My skin specialist Juliet asked skin-related questions first: allergies, skin history, and products used, among others. This is to assure that everything goes perfect during the treatment.

This highly effective white brightening facial visibly illuminates the complexion to leave it naturally more even and translucently clear. Precision, feather-light movements delicately layer proven brightening actives on the skin to encourage the washing-out of melanin and the visible dullness that develops over time.

Claims

  • Reduces the appearance of dark spots, age spots and pigmentation.
  • Reduces the appearance of skin imperfections.
  • Brightens and evens skin tone.
  • Reduces oily shine and visible pores.
  • Hydrates and softens the skin.

Verdict
I felt the difference even days after my treatment. My skin was visibly illuminating and my sun spots are less–I felt that my skin was detoxified and I loved it.

Do not expect your skin to be super light, but expect visibly brighter, clearer, more translucent, and more illuminated skin–which actually is healthier and better.

I’m not really a fan of pricking and too much picking on my skin so the Elemis White Brightening Facial suits me. During the treatment, I was relaxed, it was like a massage with some tingly parts–which means that the peptides are working its way in breaking down the spots.

After our session, the Cleopatra’s Spa team suggested that I use sunblock 15 minutes before stepping out of the house. For best results, you may opt for the Elemis White Brightening Facial every six weeks. And again, don’t forget the sunblock!

Perfect if you:
-just came back from a vacation
-stay under the sun a lot
-want clearer and more glowing skin (they target the dark spots as well as age spots!)
