Summer’s almost here so we better stock our summer ensembles. This season, flats are still in, and Longchamp takes this trend to new heights for Spring-Summer 2015 with a fresh collection focused on all things summer. In this case, they’re bringing back the espadrille.
Longchamp’s espadrilles are a far cry from the usual, though. They’re sophisticated yet light and easy. The rope soles, which are an espadrille signature, are still there, but the uppers are revisited in an array of luxurious materials, including baby calf with a leopard print in dainty pastel shades on a feminine sandal with a slender ankle strap.
Other versions were also invented, including the Le Pliage Cuir—an espadrille featuring eye-catching butter-soft metis leather and neon brights, segueing effortlessly from day to evening wear, available in silver or gold metallic lambskin with a fluorescent ankle strap.
Another version comes in canvas printed with the emblematic knotted rope motif of Longchamp’s Spring 2015 collection, the one design in the collection that looks the closest to the classic form of the espadrille.
If you want extra comfort though, choose the “flatform” espadrilles, a reinvention of slip-ons and espadrilles, featuring a chunky rope sole reinterpreted in casual rope-print canvas for day and luxe iridescent of lizard-styled calfskin–unique yet great choice for a party.
There are also other options from the Longchamp Spring 2015 collection, from the relaxed to the city-smart.
