We had a fast talk with Wafa Yahya and asked her about today’s beauty trends and secrets.

1) How do you conceal dark circles around the eyes?
Step 1: Dark circles tend to be blue or grey in colour, so as a first step to conceal them I apply a corrector or a primer of an opposite colour like orange or peach.

Step 2: I use a liquid concealer that is 1 shade darker than my skin. It is important to choose a concealer that is 1 shade darker than your skin, so it actually hides the dark circle. I apply the concealer in an upside down triangle with my ring finger, low enough under the eyes to completely cover the area.

Step 3: I blend the products very well, to make sure that the orange / peach shade has disappeared and my dark circles are covered.

2) How do you do the perfect cat eye?
WOW! That’s a good question. Perfecting a cat eye took me years of practice. I would say start from the outer corner of your upper eyelid with a higher angle then move to the inside corner with a lower angle. If you don’t get it right at the first time, don’t worry, because you will get it with some practice.

3) How do you make your eye makeup last longer?
I usually use a primer to keep the natural oils on my eyelid away from my eye makeup, which then helps it from creasing and makes it last longer. When I have an occasion I use a base to intensify the colours and give them something to stick to.

4) If you can only use one eye makeup product, what would it be?
Mascara!

5) Tinted Moisturiser, BB Cream, or Foundation?
I prefer BB cream for everyday makeup because it is an all-in-one facial product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, and foundation.

6) Cream, Powder, or Liquid Blush?
Powder blush.

7) What is your daily skin care routine?
My daily skin care routine starts with washing my face with an oil free cleanser. After that I clean my face with toner. Then I apply a serum to get the needed hydration for my skin in the day. The next step is to apply sunscreen all over my face; this is a major must for me, because I have a sensitive skin that gets irritated quickly by the sun rays. After that I wear my makeup. Note: When I have luxury of time I wait for 10 minutes before wearing makeup to allow the ingredients of the sunscreen to fully bind to my skin.
